Description

This compact 2M 144MHz RF low noise preamplifier is designed for use in amateur radio receiver systems to amplify antenna signals and compensate cable loss.

To avoid signals from other frequency bands are also amplified, there is an input band pass filter to filter out unwanted signals.

For low noise and high gain amplification, we use the ultra-low noise SPF5043Z amplifier from Qorvo. This Qorvo amplifier combines high gain (>20dB) with low noise (0.6dB typical) and a stable signal in almost every situation. After amplification the output signal is cleaned up by a low pass filter.

Total noise figure of the amplifier including input band pass filter losses is typical 1.5dB.

Although this circuit is designed for receiver systems, this amplifier can also be used to amplify other very low level signals up to -10dbm.

The amplifier is placed in a small format, splash-proof housing, die-cast aluminium housing. The input and output connectors are standard SMA female. The required DC supply voltage is 8 - 14 V at a maximum of 80 mA. The DC connection can be supplied via the output coax connection via a Bias-T or via an external connection. When ordering, please state whether the DC connection must be supplied via coax or external connection.
