In amateur radio RF amplifiers, a controller is used to switch relays and turn the RF amplifier on or off, but there are more options that make a set more complete.

With this multi-event board we have combined various functions on 1 pcb to make the control easier.

This multi-event controller board contains an HF sniffer with RF VOX with input power measurement and overload protection, peak & hold function for SSB mode and DC controlled output that can control an LED bar or other read-out option. All of this is combined with a 4 port sequencer that can turn relays and an amplifier on or off.

The HF sniffer is a broadband strip line that samples HF and rectifies DC. This signal is amplified in an adjustable opamp amplifier, after which it is sent via an SSB peak & hold circuit to the VOX circuit, power overload protection circuit and the DC output. At a pre-set RF control level, the VOX will activate the PTT port of the sequencer. For SSB use, the peak & hold circuit ensures that the VOX remains activated longer to prevent unnecessary switching between speech silences.

The overload protection measures the input level and switches off the RF amplifier as soon as a too high input power is offered. This function is duplicated; there is a connection that can be used to switch a pre-amplifier on and off and an internal connection between this protection and the bias control that is present in the sequencer section. This bias control turns the RF amplifier on or off.

The DC controlled output for an LED bar or other read-out option is adjustable and due to the presence of the Peak & Hold circuit, peak power of SSB and AM is also visible.

The 4 port sequencer is a circuit used to switch relays, for example, when switching from receiving to sending. It is also used to switch on the output stage so that it is not switched on unnecessarily, while only receiving is currently taking place.

The circuit contains 4 switching ports that switch on or off after each other with a delay. The circuit is activated by the VOX or via the separate PTT port. 3 of the 4 ports can supply relays with voltage or short-circuit this connection to ground.

A fourth port is specially intended to switch a bias of an RF amplifier on or off. A DC-output of  9V is available on this port to supply a bias with voltage, but also a connection that only switches to ground in receive mode. (Both terminals become positive in transmit mode.) This fourth port is internally coupled to the input overload protection, so that the bias of the amplifier module is turned off to prevent damage to the transistor.

In addition, there is also a connection for an external VSWR circuit that turns off both the bias circuit of the sequencer, but also the power transfer protection that also disables a preamplifier.

This external VSWR circuit is available on a separate Peak & hold driver board to measure and secure VSWR power and directional coupler.

The multi-even controller board is supplied with a manual with clear connection data and connection examples. This product is CE and ROHS compliant.
